Lhabia
AZRA016
Lhabia is five musicians from Tijuana, Mexico who have taken all of the influences that have flown both ways across the border to create their own sound. A mixture of 60's psychedelia, 80's darker synth-based groups (think early New Order), modern introspective pop, and a slight hint of the sounds of Mexico are all blended to create the Lhabia sound: two guitars, bass, drums, keys, and the occasional vocal (both English and Mexican).
The band is currently performing in the San Diego/Tijuana/ Mexicali region and will be touring the U.S. in 2008.

Taking tracks in progress and handing them off to some of the top Dub producers in the world turned out to be a brilliant plan and here are the results.
In some cases collaborators would remix the existing tracks into a completely new piece and in others, more instruments and voices were added to the mix.
The list of dubsters includes Dub Gabriel and Infinity, Twilight Circus Dub, Youth (Killing Joke), Dalek, Spectre the Ill Saint, Dr. Marble, JK Flesh, Moth Boy, Teledubgnosis, Amandou Sal, King Salmonella, Kanario d'Bogart, and N.I.C.
Featured on the album from which these tracks were remixed are Keith Levene (P.I.L. the Clash) and producer Scotty Hard (De La Soul, Bill Laswell)
These are some wicked Dub tracks from some of the top producers in the world.

"...these (15) songs are a beautiful collection of wistful, poetic 2am music...It's low-key and often lovelorn, and every song on the album stands up in its own right..." -Twisted Ear
